How Voice of the Angels -- A Healing Journey Came to Be

The story behind the cd.

One day in October, the telephone rang. The woman introduced herself as Dyan Garris. I was in Massachusetts, she in Illinois, and we had never known of each other before. She told me that she met someone who knew of my composing and performing work, and she began to tell me about a meditation that had come through her. She asked if she could mail it to me, and assertively said that “I was to be her composer, and set the guided meditation to music in some way.”

I have to admit that initially I met this invitation with resistance. After all, I defined and labeled myself as a children’s composer, performer, educator and performing artist. (see www.cherylmelody.com). However, inwardly I wondered why this had come to my life at this time, and being quite curious and open, I agreed to look at the meditation. After I received “A Healing Journey” in the mail, I thought its’ content loving and healing, but no music came to mind. I was going to suggest that I simply narrate the meditation onto tape, using my speaking voice.

However, as I was taking a shower the next morning, I suddenly heard a clear and lovely melody with lyrics through the sound of the water:

“Open your heart, Open your heart to the Light”
Breathe into Light your Love, Breathe into Love your Light…”

“What was that music I just heard,” I asked myself? Then in the next moment I realized that something Bigger than me was happening….Perhaps I was meant to be an open vessel for messages that needed to flow into the Universe. Perhaps “Open” was a sign form the Source telling me to trust and open my creative energy to this new project mysteriously coming to my life.

There are no words for the incredible time period that followed. Songs with one word powerful titles flowed through me that mirrored the meditation, “A Healing Journey,” and at the same time, “A Healing Journey” reflected all the songs, “Trust,” “Journey,” “Surrender,” “Return,” “Open,” “Light,” and “Love.“.

Words and melodies flowing through me as one unit.

I felt as if I were a clear channel, and I was a catalyst for spreading inspirational healing messages from the Source. Because of the joining of the meditation with songs, the full title of the CD then became ”Voice of the Angels-A Healing Journey.” I humbly hope you will open your own heart to the mystical magic of the melodies and words in this healing, nondenominational CD, and be soothed with light, love, hope, peace and healing.
